The Glow Squid Spawn Egg is an item in Minecraft used to directly spawn a glow squid. This spawn egg cannot be crafted and is only available in Creative mode inventories or through commands. Glow squids are passive aquatic mobs that typically spawn in dark underwater areas, such as deep oceans, ravines, and underground lakes. Glow squids do not actually emit light; instead, they have a luminescent texture and produce tiny sparkling particles. When attacked, they release a cloud of ink and attempt to flee. They require water to survive and will suffocate when out of water. The glow squid spawn egg is dark green with light green spots. Using the spawn egg spawns a glow squid on any surface. While spawn eggs can be used in Survival mode, they cannot be obtained normally and require commands. Glow squids drop glow ink sacs, which can be used to make glowing signs and item frames. They usually spawn in groups of 2 to 4, with a 5% chance of a baby glow squid spawning. Additionally, the spawn mechanics vary slightly between Java and Bedrock editions, but they both tend to spawn below Y-level 30 in water areas.
