In Minecraft, an Item Frame is a decorative item used to display items and blocks. It can be placed on the sides of most solid blocks, as well as some non-solid blocks. Item Frames serve various purposes, including decoration, marking locations, and creating mechanisms. In Java Edition, Item Frames are entities, while in Bedrock Edition, they are block entities. Item Frames can hold items or blocks, which can be rotated by clicking on them. When a map is placed, it expands to the size of a full block and displays the Item Frame's location on the map. If an item inside the frame is renamed, its custom name will be displayed when hovering over the frame. Besides regular Item Frames, there are Glow Item Frames that make the displayed items glow in the dark. Item Frames can be obtained by crafting, trading, or finding them in end ships. Crafting an Item Frame requires 8 sticks and 1 leather, while crafting a Glow Item Frame requires an Item Frame and a glow ink sac.
