Potion
In Minecraft, potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, grant players or mobs a variety of status effects, including positive buffs (like healing, strength, and speed) and negative debuffs (like poison, weakness, and slowness). Potions are created by adding different ingredients to a brewing stand. Basic potions usually start with water bottles, which are then made into awkward potions by adding nether wart, followed by the addition of various effect ingredients to create different potions. In addition to basic potions, players can extend potion durations by adding redstone dust or increase potion potency by adding glowstone dust. Additionally, players can convert standard potions into splash potions by adding gunpowder, and then into lingering potions using dragon's breath. Lingering potions create an area of effect, which can be used to affect multiple enemies in combat. There are numerous types of potions, each with different uses, making them strategically important in the game. There are also special potions in the game that cannot be obtained through brewing, typically obtained through commands or in creative mode.
