Recovery Compass

  • English: Recovery Compass
In Minecraft, the Recovery Compass is a special compass that, unlike a regular compass, does not point to the world spawn point but rather to the last location where the player died. This feature is incredibly useful for players who frequently explore the game and need to recover lost items after death. Introduced in the "Wild Update," the Recovery Compass provides players with a way to find their death location, but it only works within the dimension where the player died. If the player dies in a different dimension (for example, dying in the Nether but using the recovery compass in the Overworld), the compass needle will spin randomly, unable to indicate the correct direction. To craft a Recovery Compass, you need one regular compass and eight echo shards. Echo shards can be found in chests within the Ancient Cities of the Deep Dark biome. Once a Recovery Compass is obtained, players can equip the item and the compass needle will point to their last death location, aiding in retrieving lost items. Note that dropped items near the player’s death location will disappear after five minutes, so it’s necessary to get there promptly.
