The axolotl, also known as the Mexican walking fish, is a passive aquatic mob in Minecraft. They primarily spawn in lush cave biomes, often near clay blocks. Axolotls come in five different colors: pink (leucistic), brown (wild), gold, cyan, and blue, with blue being the rarest. They are friendly towards players but will attack most other aquatic mobs, except for turtles, dolphins, and frogs. Axolotls can assist players in combat, granting them the Regeneration effect. If an axolotl takes damage underwater, it will play dead, regenerating health during this state. Players can catch and carry axolotls using water buckets and breed them with buckets of tropical fish. Axolotls are a beloved mob in Minecraft due to their unique appearance, colors, and behaviors. Furthermore, the blue axolotl is very rare in the game, having only a 1/1200 chance of spawning, making it a sought-after mob for players. Players can also build axolotl farms to collect them via breeding or natural spawning.
