Bat

Original Title:Bat

Languages:

  • Chinese: 蝙蝠
  • English: Bat
Bats are passive ambient mobs in Minecraft, typically spawning in dark areas, especially caves. Bats do not drop any items or experience points when killed. They often fly around aimlessly, making squeaking sounds. Bats tend to favor flying east and may occasionally fly into lava and catch fire. When idle, bats hang upside down from the underside of solid blocks, but they cannot hang from transparent or non-solid blocks. If a player approaches a bat hanging upside down, even if the player is invisible, it will fly away. Bats' collision boxes do not interact with the player or redstone components. They are small in size, generally less than a block tall and wide. Their main function in the game is to enhance the environment and help players discover caves. In the Java Edition, bats use the "Friendly Creatures" sound category, while the Bedrock Edition has different sounds. Furthermore, there are various appearance variants of bats in the game, including some based on real-life bat species. Bats do not count towards the hostile mob cap, as they are considered ambient creatures.
