Cod

Cod are common passive aquatic mobs found in Minecraft, primarily inhabiting ocean biomes, including normal, cold, and lukewarm oceans, as well as their deep variants. They typically spawn in groups of 3-6 in Java Edition and 4-7 in Bedrock Edition, always at the surface. Players can obtain raw cod by killing them, with occasional drops of bones in Bedrock Edition or bone meal in Java Edition. Cod can be captured using a water bucket, creating a 'Bucket of Cod,' which will not despawn upon release. Cod cannot survive out of water, struggling briefly before suffocating. In Java Edition, weapons with the 'Impaling' enchantment deal additional damage to cod. Raw cod can be cooked into cooked cod in a furnace, smoker, or campfire, which restores hunger points. Cod cannot be bred and only spawn in designated biomes.
