Dolphin

Original Title:Dolphin

Languages:

  • Chinese: 海豚
  • English: Dolphin
In Minecraft, dolphins are neutral aquatic mobs that inhabit non-frozen ocean biomes. They typically spawn in groups (pods) of 3 to 5 and are found between levels 50 and 64. Dolphins provide a speed boost to players swimming nearby and will follow players as they swim. 10% of dolphins spawn as babies. They occasionally leap out of the water to get air and can jump between different bodies of water. If a player attacks a dolphin, the entire pod will retaliate. Dolphins are playful and will chase dropped items in the water. Feeding them raw cod or raw salmon will increase their 'trust,' and they will guide players to nearby shipwrecks or underwater ruins. Dolphins suffocate when out of water in dry weather, but not in rain. They need to surface for air and will drown if submerged for too long. In the Java Edition, dolphins grant players the 'Dolphin's Grace' effect for increased swimming speed; in the Bedrock Edition, players get a speed boost without a status effect. Dolphins also appear in the 'Hidden Depths' DLC of Minecraft Dungeons, granting a five-second 'Dolphin's Grace' effect upon approach.
