The Ender Dragon is a giant, flying, hostile boss mob in Minecraft, encountered upon first entering the End dimension. It is the largest naturally spawning mob in the game. The Ender Dragon guards the end gateways that lead to the outer end islands, as well as the exit portal that returns players to the Overworld. Because of this, it is regarded by most Minecraft fans as the game's 'final boss'. Its attacks include charging at the player and using a unique dragon breath acid attack. Defeating the Ender Dragon spawns a portal to return to the Overworld, and drops a large amount of experience and a dragon egg as loot. Players can re-summon the Ender Dragon by placing four end crystals on the edges of the exit portal. The Ender Dragon fight triggers special music, darkens the screen edges, and produces black fog, while chunks around the exit portal are continuously loaded. The Ender Dragon's health is restored by nearby end crystals, and destroying these crystals will cause additional damage. The Ender Dragon is immune to all status effects and can only be killed by explosions and player-inflicted damage. It has multiple hitboxes on its body, including its head, body, tail, and wings. The Ender Dragon flies towards the exit portal structure before it dies.
