In Minecraft, falling blocks are special entities that simulate the movement of blocks under the influence of gravity. These blocks are not just simple visual effects; they can also be used to create complex mechanisms and special effects. Falling blocks can be generated using the command `/summon falling_block`, and their appearance, trajectory, and duration can be customized. Players can control the behavior of these blocks by adjusting NBT tags, such as using the `Time` tag to set the block's lifespan or the `NoGravity` tag to make it float in the air. Additionally, the `Motion` tag can be used to control the block's direction and speed, creating various interesting motion effects. While falling blocks are usually naturally generated by gravity-affected blocks (such as sand and gravel), any block can be turned into a falling block entity through commands, which brings endless possibilities to gameplay. It's important to note that this feature may be limited in the latest Bedrock Edition.
