Turtle
In Minecraft, turtles are passive mobs that primarily spawn in beach biomes. They are the sole source of scutes in the game, which are dropped when baby turtles mature into adults. Turtles can be bred with seagrass and lay eggs on beaches. They move slowly on land but swim quickly in water. They wander aimlessly and flee when attacked. When on land, they generally try to move to the nearest water source. Turtle eggs are fragile and can be broken if trampled by mobs like zombies. Baby turtles drop scutes when they grow up. Turtles remember their birth location and return to it to lay eggs after breeding. In Minecraft, turtles can be led by players holding seagrass and transported by boats and minecarts. Players can use turtle scutes to craft turtle shell helmets, which provide water breathing and have higher durability than iron helmets. Players can also establish turtle farms using their breeding behavior to obtain a steady supply of scutes.
