Wandering Trader

  • English: Wandering Trader
The Wandering Trader in Minecraft is a passive mob that randomly spawns near the player. This merchant offers unique trades, making natural items more accessible, sometimes less dangerous to obtain, and in some cases, renewable. The Wandering Trader typically appears with two leashed trader llamas. They spawn randomly in the Overworld, usually within a 48-block radius of a player. In Bedrock Edition, they also try to spawn near a claimed bell in a village. The Wandering Trader offers six random trades, five of which are common items, and the sixth is a rarer, special item. These trades include various natural resources such as plants, dyes, and buckets of fish, as well as rarer items like coral, blue ice, and nautilus shells. The Wandering Trader only sells items and does not buy them. They despawn after a period of time and this cannot be prevented by naming them or placing them in boats/minecarts. Attacking the Wandering Trader will cause their llamas to attack the player, but killing the trader will not drop any valuable items or experience. The Wandering Trader is a convenient way to obtain biome-specific materials without traveling to those biomes.
