Debug Mode in Minecraft is a world type primarily used for testing block models, states, and textures. It is useful for both Mojang developers and resource pack creators. In Debug Mode, all blocks and their different states are presented in a single world, arranged in a grid-like fashion. This world automatically updates to include any newly registered block IDs. Upon entering Debug Mode, the game mode is set to Spectator Mode, the difficulty is locked to Peaceful, and players cannot change or place any blocks. However, some blocks can still be used through interaction (e.g., chests and beds), and block entity data can be modified through commands. Debug Mode can also refer to a state of a world, where if the Overworld uses the "debug" generator, the world enters debug mode, similarly preventing block changes. This mode is primarily for development and testing purposes, rather than regular gameplay.
