Minecraft is a 3D sandbox game created by Swedish game developer Markus "Notch" Persson. It is maintained by Mojang Studios, a part of Xbox Game Studios, which in turn is part of Microsoft. Minecraft allows players to explore, interact with, and modify a dynamically-generated map made of one-cubic-meter-sized blocks. Players can gather resources, build structures, fight creatures, craft tools, and more. The game features diverse biomes such as plains, forests, deserts, and oceans, as well as special dimensions known as the Nether and the End. There are various game modes, including survival mode, which requires players to gather resources and face challenges, and creative mode, where players have unlimited resources and the ability to fly. Minecraft has a broad player base worldwide and has found applications in education as a tool for learning programming and fostering creativity. The game has also spawned numerous other titles, including Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends.
