End Gateways are special portals in Minecraft, primarily found in the End dimension. They are generated in two main ways: some spawn around the central island after defeating the Ender Dragon, up to 20, and others are randomly generated on the outer islands. These portals are primarily used to quickly transport players between the main island and the outer islands in the End. Gateways on the main island, once activated, link to another gateway on an outer island, allowing players to travel back and forth. Randomly generated gateways on the outer islands, in contrast, teleport players directly back to the obsidian platform on the main island. End gateways are composed of an end gateway block confined within a vaguely octahedral formation of 12 bedrock blocks. They emit distinctive magenta beams and a purple teleportation beam when a player enters. Players can enter the gateways by throwing ender pearls, using water channels, or trapdoors. In Java Edition, through specific methods, players can even place the end gateway block in non-End dimensions, though they won't teleport; they still emit beam effects. End gateways are a key element for exploring the End and collecting resources.
