The End portal is a naturally generated structure in Minecraft used for traveling to the End dimension. It's typically found in the portal room of a stronghold, hanging over a lava pool. In Survival mode, players must explore and find a stronghold to activate a pre-existing End portal, as End portal frame blocks cannot be obtained naturally. To activate it, players must place an eye of ender in each End portal frame block, which generates 9 End portal blocks within the structure. In Creative mode, players can construct an End portal by placing 12 End portal frame blocks in a ring around a 3x3 open area and placing an eye of ender in each frame. End portal blocks themselves can exist independently, obtainable via commands or by breaking frames. Stepping into an activated End portal immediately transports players to the End. The End portal emits a light level of 15, the brightest light level in the game. The End is a dark, space-like dimension in Minecraft, consisting of separate islands made of end stone. It's inhabited by endermen and shulkers, and the ender dragon spawns upon first arrival. Players need to find strongholds using eyes of ender and activate the End portal to access the End. The End is considered the final goal of Minecraft, with defeating the ender dragon being a major challenge.
