In Minecraft, icebergs are naturally generated structures found primarily in the frozen ocean and deep frozen ocean biomes. They are composed of ice, packed ice, and blue ice, with some portions above water and others submerged. Icebergs typically appear in groups, and the surrounding water may sometimes be frozen. Polar bears and strays may spawn near icebergs. There are two types of icebergs: cone icebergs (also known as "iceberg features"), which are smaller and shaped like an inverted cone, and iceberg terrain features, which are larger and more mountainous. Cone icebergs are primarily made of packed ice, and occasionally contain blue ice. There's a 30% chance that cone icebergs are topped with snow blocks. These cone icebergs can be circular or elliptical, with a 30% (Java Edition) or 20% (Bedrock Edition) chance of being elliptical. Circular icebergs have a radius ranging from 0 to 11 blocks, and their height and depth vary randomly. Elliptical icebergs have semi-major and semi-minor axes within specific ranges. Icebergs can also have carvings or recesses, adding to their natural diversity. In addition to icebergs, blue ice features sometimes generate adjacent to the base of packed ice icebergs. Icebergs do not contain any loot, but the biomes in which they generate support cod, shipwrecks and underwater ruins.
