Igloo
In Minecraft, an igloo is a structure that randomly generates in snowy biomes such as snowy plains, snowy taigas, or snowy slopes. It is primarily built with snow blocks and usually features a carpeted interior with a bed, a furnace, and a crafting table, which serves as a temporary shelter for players. Approximately half of all igloos contain an oak trapdoor hidden beneath the carpet, leading to an underground ladder shaft and a basement. This basement is made of stone bricks, sometimes including infested blocks with silverfish. Inside, there’s typically a brewing stand, a cauldron, and a chest containing a golden apple. Additionally, there are two cages with iron bars holding a villager and a zombie villager, respectively. The zombie villager can be cured using a golden apple and a splash potion of weakness. Igloos without a basement will have a snow block in place of the trapdoor. In Java Edition, the generated villager is always unemployed, while the zombie villager is always a cleric. In Bedrock Edition, the generated villager has a random profession, while the zombie villager is unemployed but can change professions after being cured. Igloos are useful as temporary shelters during exploration and as a source of certain items and villagers.
