In Minecraft, "Large Biomes" is a world type that generates biomes on a much larger scale than in normal worlds. This setting primarily affects the Overworld and does not alter biomes in the Nether or the End. Prior to version 1.18, Large Biomes worlds were geographically the same as Default worlds, but with 16 times as much area (multiplied by 4 along the X and Z axes). This meant that if you generated both a Default world and a Large Biomes world with the same seed, the overall shape of the terrain would be the same, but the biomes in the Large Biomes world would be significantly larger. However, since version 1.18 introduced multi-noise parameters for biome generation, the terrain in Large Biomes is no longer geographically consistent with Default worlds using the same seed. The aim of Large Biomes is to provide more expansive areas for exploration, which can also lead to resources being more spread out, making it more difficult to find specific biomes or resources. Despite this, for players who enjoy large-scale exploration and building, Large Biomes offer a unique challenge and enjoyment.
