Music
The music of Minecraft is composed by several artists, primarily by German musician Daniel Rosenfeld (C418) initially. He created two soundtrack albums for the game: 'Minecraft – Volume Alpha' (2011) and 'Minecraft – Volume Beta' (2013). These albums are renowned for their ambient and minimalistic style, earning critical and player acclaim. 'Volume Alpha' even received gold certification from the RIAA in the United States. Since 2020, American composer Lena Raine has joined the music production, contributing to major updates like the 'Nether Update.' Additionally, Aaron Cherof and Kumi Tanioka have contributed to the most recent versions. Gareth Coker composed music for the DLC of legacy console versions. These musical contributions collectively shape Minecraft's unique and immersive atmosphere, spanning from serene ambient tracks to tense battle themes. While C418's planned third album, 'Minecraft – Volume Final,' has not been released due to copyright issues, works by other composers have been released under Microsoft's label.
