  • Chinese: 下界洞穴
  • English: Nether Cave
In Minecraft, Nether Caves are common underground structures found in the Nether dimension. They are randomly generated patches of air blocks, sometimes including lava source blocks (at Y=10 or below). These caves expose smooth netherrack and other blocks generated within the terrain. Nether Caves typically consist of irregular tunnels branching off and winding, sometimes connecting to the surface, creating natural entrances. They can generate at any altitude up to Y=128 and frequently intersect with other Nether Caves or fortresses. There are different types of Nether Caves, including small, medium, large, circular, ravines, giant entrance, and sea-access caves. Various ores can be found in these caves, such as centerstone ore, crystal ore, flarestone ore, soulstone ore, fuelstone ore, and nether quartz ore. Additionally, a specific Nether Cave exists in Minecraft Dungeons as part of the player camp, serving as an access point for Ancient Hunts and housing a Piglin Merchant.
