Rain
In Minecraft, rain is an occasional weather phenomenon and an environmental effect. It occurs randomly in the Overworld but does not appear in warmer biomes like deserts and savannas, or in other dimensions. Rain typically lasts for 0.5 to 1 in-game days, with a 0.5 to 7.5-day delay between rains. During rain, the world darkens, and sunlight decreases, though moonlight remains unaffected. Rain extinguishes fires (including flaming arrows) but not campfires or fires on netherrack. Some mobs, such as skeletons and zombies, are protected from sunlight during rain, while Endermen and snow golems take damage from contact with water. Rain can also develop into thunderstorms. In colder biomes and at higher altitudes, rain turns into snow. Rain affects gameplay, such as wetting farmland and increasing fishing catch rates.
