Ruined Portal

Ruined Portals are naturally generated structures in Minecraft that resemble damaged Nether Portals. They spawn in all biomes of both the Overworld and the Nether, and can be found underground, underwater, or exposed to the air. Ruined Portals usually have some decorations and a loot chest nearby. These structures are unique as they are the only ones that generate in multiple dimensions. The frames of Ruined Portals are made of obsidian and crying obsidian, although crying obsidian cannot be used to activate the portal. Players can repair Ruined Portals to make them functional again for travel between the Overworld and the Nether. Typically, Ruined Portals generate on a mass of netherrack, and in the Nether, blackstone variants and chains are used for decoration.
