Stars
In Minecraft, stars are celestial bodies that appear in the night sky, forming part of the game's time system along with the sun and moon. First introduced in Update 0.7.3, stars are represented as white pixel points and rotate across the night sky as time progresses. Although they do not emit light themselves, their presence enhances the realism of the night. The generation of the starfield is random but uses a fixed seed of 10842, ensuring that the arrangement of stars is the same every time a game is started. The brightness and visibility of the stars vary depending on the day-night cycle, and they are visible only under clear weather conditions. There are 780 stars in the game, with their positions and brightness pre-calculated. In addition, Minecraft has an item called a firework star, which is used to create firework rockets, allowing for varied colors, effects, and shapes when using different material combinations.
