Trail Ruins are buried structures in Minecraft, introduced in the 1.20 "Trails & Tales" update. They are typically found hidden underground within heavily forested biomes such as taigas, snowy taigas, old growth taigas, old growth birch forests, and jungles. Trail Ruins resemble small settlements of a lost civilization, constructed from mud bricks and terracotta. They include a main path made of cobblestone and bricks, small huts, and a central tower. These ruins are buried under layers of dirt, gravel, and suspicious gravel, which can be brushed using a brush to reveal treasures such as artifacts, armor trim templates, and pottery sherds. While not the most lucrative source of resources, Trail Ruins offer players a chance to experience the archeological aspect of Minecraft, adding to the thrill of exploration and providing unique items like the "Relic" music disc and armor trim templates. Each ruin’s layout varies, requiring players to explore and excavate to uncover all of their secrets.
