In Minecraft, a Witch Hut (also known as a Swamp Hut) is a rare structure that generates in swamp biomes. Typically built from spruce planks and oak logs, the hut is a small, square building with a small platform leading outside. Inside, you'll find a crafting table, a flower pot (usually with a red mushroom), and a cauldron (empty in Java Edition, but may contain a random potion in Bedrock Edition). When the world generates, a witch and a black cat will always spawn within the hut, and they will not despawn naturally. Additionally, witches can spawn in a specific area around the hut. Witches are hostile mobs that use potions in combat, throwing splash potions offensively and drinking them defensively. Witch huts are often important for players to find potion ingredients and are a common place to build witch farms. The generation of these huts is random, and they do not appear in mangrove swamp biomes. Typically, a Witch Hut spawns at the northwest corner of a given chunk.
