Nether
The Nether is a dangerous, hell-like dimension in Minecraft, filled with fire, lava, fungal vegetation, hostile mobs, and unique structures and biomes. Players access the Nether by constructing a nether portal in the Overworld, which is an obsidian frame activated with fire. The Nether has no day-night cycle or weather. Its defining features include lava oceans, constant fire, and unique biomes. The terrain is typically cave-like, with red or blue fog. There are five distinct biomes: Nether Wastes, Soul Sand Valley, Crimson Forest, Warped Forest, and Basalt Deltas. Travel in the Nether is scaled at an 8:1 ratio compared to the Overworld. The Nether contains unique structures such as nether fortresses and bastion remnants, along with various hostile mobs like ghasts, zombified piglins, and magma cubes. Players can find exclusive resources in the Nether, including nether quartz ore, nether gold ore, and ancient debris.
