Ocean
In Minecraft, the ocean is a vast aquatic biome that covers approximately 25% to 33% of the game world's surface. It is the largest biome by area and a significant location for exploration and adventure. The ocean's surface is at a default altitude of Y=62, with normal ocean depths around Y=45, while deep oceans extend to about Y=30. The seabed is hilly, mostly covered with gravel, and occasionally features clay, dirt, or sand patches. Seagrass and kelp are common, sometimes reaching the surface. Players can discover shipwrecks and underwater ruins in the ocean, and ocean monuments in deep sea areas. There are several ocean variants, such as normal, deep, frozen, cold, and lukewarm, each with distinct characteristics and inhabitants. The ocean is not only an important game setting but also offers a wealth of resources and challenges.
