In Minecraft, the Old Growth Birch Forest is a unique biome known for its tall birch trees. This forest typically generates on rolling hills, with birch tree trunks that are taller than those found in other biomes. The Old Growth Birch Forest is similar to a regular birch forest, but the trees are taller, making harvesting wood more challenging but also yielding more wood resources. It experiences average precipitation, and its vegetation includes dandelions, poppies, lilacs, peonies, and rose bushes. In addition to common grass blocks, standard building blocks such as stone, coal ore, iron ore, gold ore, diamond ore, redstone ore, and copper ore are found. It is also home to animals like cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, and bees, as well as the usual nighttime monsters. The biome has had different names throughout the game's versions, such as "Tall Birch Forest" or "Mutated Birch Forest," but is now called "Old Growth Birch Forest." Additionally, it is often separated from regular birch forests by rivers, and clearings and shallow lakes may also occur.
