River
In Minecraft, rivers are a common biome that often serve as borders between different biomes, winding their way through the Overworld. Rivers are not flowing bodies of water, but rather still water sources, which may flow into oceans or form closed loops. The depth and width of rivers vary, often being shallow in flat areas and reaching depths of 30 blocks or more in mountainous regions. Riverbeds consist of dirt, sand, gravel, and clay, making them an important source of clay. Seagrass spawns in the river, and sugarcane can occasionally be found on the riverbanks. The grass in the river biome has a bluish-green hue. Players can find squid and salmon in rivers. Furthermore, there is a variation of the river biome, known as the frozen river, which is common in cold biomes, with a surface covered in ice. Sugarcane is prone to falling off frozen riverbanks due to the ice. In the game, rivers are not only crucial places to gather resources, but also important passages for connecting different terrains, adding to the variety of exploration and survival.
