Snowy Mountains in Minecraft are a spectacular biome consisting of seven related sub-biomes that generate in mountainous terrain with low erosion values. These mountainous biomes are divided into two main types: slopes and peaks, each with distinct characteristics and vegetation. Slope biomes include meadows, cherry groves, groves, and snowy slopes. Peak biomes consist of jagged peaks, frozen peaks, and stony peaks. These biomes feature unique structures like pillager outposts, villages, and igloos. Goats are exclusive to these biomes, which also host other creatures like rabbits, snowy wolves, snow foxes, and polar bears. Players can find emerald ores in snowy mountains, with coal and iron ores also being common. Infested block blobs also naturally generate deep underground below sea level. The mountain biomes are cut off at Y=256.
