Sunflower Plains are a distinctive biome in Minecraft, known for their abundance of sunflowers. This flat grassland biome is the only place where sunflowers generate naturally, making it easily recognizable in the game. In addition to sunflowers, you can find other flowers such as azure bluets, oxeye daisies, and tulips of various colors. Oak trees are also sparsely distributed, sometimes with bee nests.
Sunflower Plains are commonly bordered by regular plains or cherry groves, and are separated from flower forests by rivers. In Minecraft Bedrock Edition, villages and pillager outposts can still generate in Sunflower Plains, but not in the Java Edition. The mob spawning in this biome is similar to other plains, including horses, donkeys, chickens, and bees. At night, players will also encounter common hostile mobs like creepers, endermen, skeletons, spiders, witches, and zombies. Notably, sunflowers always face east, serving as a reference for navigation. Sunflowers can be crafted into yellow dye and are important for bees' pollination, which helps increase the honey level in beehives and bee nests.
Overall, Sunflower Plains are a beautiful and unique biome in Minecraft, offering both decorative, practical, and adventurous aspects.
