The End
The End is a dark, space-like dimension in Minecraft, consisting of separate islands made of end stone floating in the void. It is home to endermen and shulkers, as well as the ender dragon. Players must first locate a stronghold using eyes of ender, then activate the end portal to access the End. The End is the final goal of Minecraft, and defeating the ender dragon is necessary to "beat" the game. Within the End, players will find a main island and outer islands, which can contain end cities and ships that hold valuable loot such as elytra and dragon heads. The End lacks a day-night cycle, and its sky features a dim, static pattern. Beds and respawn anchors will explode in the End. If the dimension is set to a superflat world, the sky will appear nearly black. The unique environment, creatures, and challenges of The End make it one of the most iconic locations in the game, and a significant part of its progression. Players entering the exit portal after defeating the ender dragon will be presented with the "End Poem" by Julian Gough.
