The Void
In Minecraft, "The Void" refers to the empty space outside the world in any dimension, commonly located below the map. In vanilla Minecraft, players can enter the void through commands, map editors, Creative or Spectator mode, glitches, or by reaching the End. No blocks can be generated or placed in the void, even with commands. In Java Edition, falling at least 64 blocks into the void causes damage to all mobs except the Ender Dragon, leading to player death within 2.5 seconds. Armor, totems of undying, resistance, and protection enchantments do not prevent death in the void. In Bedrock Edition, players take damage below Y=-82, and an invisible barrier is created at Y=-104. The void appears black in the Overworld and Nether, and purple in the End. The void represents the infinite space beyond the game's map, filled with mystery and challenge.
