In Minecraft, 'Luck' is a status effect that increases the chances of receiving better loot from certain loot tables. It is the opposite of the 'Bad Luck' status effect. The Luck effect works by adding to an attribute called `generic.luck`, which influences the weights of items in loot tables. When a player has the Luck effect, the value of the `generic.luck` attribute is increased (1 × effect level), making high-quality loot (entries with a high quality score) more likely to appear, while low-quality loot (entries with a low quality score) becomes less likely. Currently, only fishing utilizes the quality attribute. Using a fishing rod enchanted with 'Luck of the Sea' can also increase the quality of fishing loot, but it does not grant the Luck status effect. The Luck effect can be obtained through potions, arrows, or the `/effect` command. It's important to note that only players are affected by the Luck effect, while other mobs are not.
