Night Vision is a status effect in Minecraft that significantly enhances a player's vision in dark and underwater environments. When under the effect of Night Vision, the game's brightness is greatly increased, allowing players to see clearly even in areas with a light level of 0. However, Night Vision does not make everything as bright as the maximum brightness level, preserving subtle differences in light levels. This effect can be obtained by drinking a Potion of Night Vision or by using an Arrow of Night Vision. Additionally, some mods or resource packs offer similar night vision functionalities, such as night vision texture packs and night vision goggles, which can change the game's lighting or provide continuous night vision. The presentation of Night Vision may vary slightly between platforms like Java and Bedrock Edition. In specific dimensions, the night vision effect can display unusual colors, such as green or blue. During the final 10 seconds, the screen brightness flashes, indicating the effect is about to wear off. The Night Vision effect can be removed by drinking Milk.
