Slowness
Slowness is a negative status effect in Minecraft that reduces the movement speed of entities. Specifically, Slowness decreases walking speed by 15% multiplied by the effect level, and also contracts the player's field of view. Negative levels of Slowness, however, will increase movement speed. Sprint-jumping, however, is barely affected. Withers and ender dragons are immune to the Slowness effect. Flying mobs, while unaffected by Slowness, are not immune to it; Shulkers are also unaffected, though not immune. The Slowness effect can be removed by drinking milk. Slowness can be applied through potions, arrows, and other means. For example, witches may throw splash potions of slowness, and strays may shoot arrows of slowness. Melee weapons enchanted with Bane of Arthropods will also inflict slowness upon spiders, cave spiders, endermites, and silverfish. There are other mechanisms related to slowness, such as slowness potions and slow falling potions. The icon color of slowness effect may vary across different versions. For example, in version 1.19.4, the particle color of slowness effect was changed from #5A6C81 to #8BAFE0. Overall, the Slowness effect is an important status effect in Minecraft, significantly impacting the gameplay and player experience.
