Nam (ナム, Namu) is a warrior from a desert village featured in the Dragon Ball series. He participates in the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament with the goal of winning the prize money to buy water for his drought-stricken village. Nam is a tall man with brown skin, a long face, small beady eyes, and a red dot (bindi) on his forehead. He wears a white turban and an orange and maroon robe, similar to traditional Indian and Thai Buddhist monk attire. Nam is a quiet and reserved individual, rarely showing emotion, but he displays strong will and determination in combat. He's known for his unique fighting techniques, like the Cross Arm Dive and Shura Gekiretsuken. Although he ultimately loses to Goku, he is respected for his selflessness and dedication to his village. He also makes cameo appearances later in the story, and in Dragon Ball Z, he contributes his energy to Goku's Spirit Bomb.
