Mercenary Tao, also known as Tao Pai Pai, is a major antagonist in the Dragon Ball series. He is the younger brother of Master Shen and is known for his ruthless and highly skilled assassin techniques. Mercenary Tao is a hired killer who typically charges exorbitant fees per target and was once hired by the Red Ribbon Army to assassinate Goku. He is known for his unique fighting style, including using his tongue to pierce enemies and his powerful energy wave attack, the Dodon Ray. Mercenary Tao is infamous for his sadistic personality and his enjoyment of killing, showing no hesitation in harming or killing children. He is defeated in his first encounter with Goku, later returning as a cyborg to again battle Goku and his friends.
