Sharpner

Sharpner (シャプナー, Shapunā) is an athletic student at Orange Star High School in Dragon Ball Z, where he is classmates with Erasa, Videl, and Gohan. Initially portrayed as a stereotypical jock, he considers himself superior to the nerdy Gohan, but he does care about his friends. Before the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, he attempts to confess his feelings to Videl, stopping when he sees Gohan as the Great Saiyaman. He then tries to unmask the Great Saiyaman to impress Videl, but fails. He initially dismisses Gohan as weak, but is later shocked by Gohan's strength during a gym class. Sharpner is further amazed when Gohan appears as the “Golden Warrior”. Sharpner is killed when Buu destroys Earth, but is later resurrected by the Dragon Balls. He also contributes his energy to Goku's Spirit Bomb. Sharpner's name is a pun on the word "sharpener," a reference to school supplies, similar to Erasa's name (Eraser). He appears as a supporting character within the series, representing the everyday students at Orange Star High.
