Raditz

Raditz (ラディッツ), is a character from the Dragon Ball series, first appearing in Dragon Ball Z. He is a Saiyan, the eldest son of Bardock and Gine, and the older brother of Goku (Kakarot). Raditz is a ruthless warrior, who, like other Saiyans, lives to conquer planets and serve Frieza. He has distinctive long, spiky black hair and wears Frieza Force battle armor. Raditz comes to Earth in search of his younger brother, Goku, and attempts to persuade him to join the Saiyans. He kidnaps Goku's son, Gohan, using him as a threat to Goku. In the battle with Goku and Piccolo, Raditz demonstrates his great strength, but is eventually defeated by a combined attack from Goku and Piccolo. His death marks the beginning of the Dragon Ball Z story and introduces more powerful Saiyan enemies such as Vegeta and Nappa. Raditz's personality is arrogant and cruel, but he is very proud of his Saiyan heritage. Although ultimately a villain, his appearance adds an important plot point to the Dragon Ball series.
