Bardock

Bardock (バーダック), is a prominent Saiyan character in the Dragon Ball series. He is the father of the protagonist Goku (Kakarot) and Raditz. Bardock first appeared in the 1990 TV special Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku, where he is depicted as a low-class warrior leading his own squad. He bears a striking resemblance to Goku but has darker skin, a stern gaze, and a scar across his cheek. Initially, Bardock is a Saiyan warrior under Frieza, but upon realizing Frieza’s plan to annihilate the Saiyans, he rebels and attempts to thwart Frieza's scheme. He is granted the ability to foresee the future, witnessing Frieza’s destruction of Planet Vegeta. He bravely challenges Frieza, and although he is ultimately defeated and consumed by the supernova, his actions significantly impact the future of the Saiyans. His story has been revisited and referenced many times throughout the Dragon Ball series, making him a beloved character symbolizing courage and defiance.
