Raphael Sorel

Raphael Sorel (Japanese: ラファエル・ソレル) is a fictional character in the Soulcalibur series of fighting games. He first appeared in Soulcalibur II, initially portrayed as a protagonist but later becoming an antagonist. He is known for his masterful fencing skills, his cold and ruthless personality, and his contemptuous attitude towards others. Raphael hails from a French noble family but was disowned due to political strife and an accidental killing. While on the run, he met a girl named Amy, who became the only person he truly cared about. To protect Amy and create an ideal world for her, Raphael stops at nothing, even aligning himself with evil forces. He seeks the powerful cursed sword Soul Edge, which gradually corrupts him. Throughout various Soulcalibur games, Raphael's appearance transforms from an aristocratic swordsman to a vampire-like figure. His complex character, obsessive love, and tragic fate have made him one of the most popular and iconic characters in the series.
