Created by Namco's Project Soul division, she first appeared in Soulcalibur II and in most subsequent titles of the series. Talim is a Filipino daughter of a shaman and trained to be a Priest of the Wind. After encountering a fragment of the cursed sword Soul Edge, she travels the world to return it to its rightful place. She is known for her fast attacks and unique Wind Dance fighting style. Talim has received positive reception within the series, and is noted to be the first Filipino character in fighting games. Her name means "edge" or "sharp" in Tagalog. Her design is built around her use of elbow blades, emphasizing her speed and agility. She is a naive and kind young priestess who is devoted to maintaining the balance of the world. Despite her young age, she has been featured in publications for her sex appeal, which has generated some controversy. In Soulcalibur VI, her storyline focuses on proving her ability to return the Soul Edge fragment to its rightful place.
