Zasalamel

Zasalamel (ザサラメール) is a character in the Soulcalibur series of fighting games. He is a mysterious man with powerful magical abilities, who has no allegiances and whose actions are often seen as evil. He first appeared as a new character in Soulcalibur III and has made subsequent appearances in the series. Zasalamel's signature weapon is a large scythe, and he is adept at magic, said to be able to master most spells after seeing them used once. His special ability also includes soul reincarnation, meaning that after death, he is reborn in a new body with all the memories of his previous lives, making him practically immortal. Zasalamel's goal is to end his eternal cycle of reincarnation, and to achieve this he has attempted to harness the power of the cursed sword, Soul Edge, and the holy sword, Soul Calibur. In Soulcalibur VI, Zasalamel's story is retold, portraying him as a character who is trying to end his cursed cycle and holds hope for the future of humanity. His background is tied to an ancient tribe tasked with guarding the holy sword, from which he was banished for breaking a rule, leading him to seek forbidden knowledge and immortality. Though he often displays a detached and cunning personality, he is actually manipulating others to achieve his goals. His design is inspired by priests and grim reapers, with his attire incorporating symbols of time and reincarnation.
