Yoda (ヨーダ) is a character from the Star Wars franchise who appears as a playable character in Soulcalibur IV. Soulcalibur IV is the fifth main installment in the Soulcalibur series, developed by Project Soul and published by Namco Bandai Games. Initially exclusive to the Xbox 360 version, Yoda was later made available on the PlayStation 3 version as downloadable content (DLC). His fighting style is Ataru, a form of lightsaber combat that emphasizes Force-enhanced acrobatics. Yoda is known in the game for his unique jumping attacks and immunity to grabs, while also using the Force to enhance his moves. Despite these advantages, Yoda is also criticized for his limited range, low damage output, and poor mobility, leading some players to consider him one of the worst characters in the game, or even the entire series. Nevertheless, he remains a popular character for his unique gameplay and the introduction of Star Wars elements to the Soulcalibur series. Soulcalibur IV also introduced new mechanics such as the Soul Gauge and Critical Finishes, further adding to the game's depth and strategy.
