Ooi

Ooi (大井, おおい) is a character in the game "Kantai Collection" (also known as KanColle), based on the Imperial Japanese Navy's Kuma-class light cruiser, Ooi. She is one of the kanmusu (ship girl) in the game that can be upgraded into a Torpedo Cruiser. Ooi is recognized by her long brown hair and brown eyes. She is known for her close relationship with Kitakami, often depicted as having a strong obsession with her. Ooi was featured as a placeholder in earlier versions of the game with a unique black silhouette and the words "NO DATA" when loading failed. In combat, Ooi excels at using torpedoes, particularly after being upgraded to a Torpedo Cruiser, where her torpedo attack power significantly increases. Ooi has a somewhat dark personality, with varying attitudes towards the Admiral (player), but she shows deep care for Kitakami. She is also a common character in fan creations, often paired with Kitakami. In the anime adaptation, Ooi is depicted as a somewhat obsessive character, with a strong possessiveness for Kitakami, but she also demonstrates excellent combat capabilities. Overall, Ooi is a complex and popular character in "Kantai Collection."
