Hiyou

Hiyou (ひよう) is a character in the game 'Kantai Collection' (KanColle), representing the Hiyou-class light aircraft carrier. Her design is based on the real-world Japanese aircraft carrier Hiyou, which was originally built as a luxury passenger liner, the Izumo Maru, before being converted. In the game, Hiyou is depicted as a young woman with a white blouse, red hakama, and hair ribbons, carrying scrolls that represent her light carrier flight decks. Her personality is often associated with her past as a passenger ship, as well as her desire to prove herself as capable as a full-fledged carrier. She has various seasonal lines and artwork that are popular among players. Hiyou is often perceived as a tragic figure due to her historical sinking caused by a gasoline vapor explosion.
