Akebono

Akebono (曙, あけぼの) is a character in the game 'Kantai Collection' (KanColle), a ship girl based on the Imperial Japanese Navy destroyer Akebono. She is a member of the Ayanami-class destroyers, known for her somewhat rebellious and cynical personality. In the game, she often comes across as unfriendly, displaying a cold attitude towards the commander (Admiral), even calling them 'Kuso Teitoku' (shit admiral). This is mainly due to past events that have led her to distrust superiors. Despite this, she is a capable ship girl, skilled in torpedo warfare and night battles, excelling in combat. Her official art usually shows her wearing clothing with chrysanthemum patterns, and she also has a chrysanthemum hair ornament, all relating to the historical background of the ship she represents. In the storyline, she was once unfairly treated due to an accident during an escort mission, which fueled her cynicism. Despite her sharp personality, Akebono is actually a trustworthy comrade who will do her best to complete tasks when it matters.
