Hatsuharu

Hatsuharu (はつはる) is a character from the game "Kantai Collection" (艦隊これくしょん/KanColle), based on the lead ship of the Hatsuharu-class destroyers of the former Imperial Japanese Navy. She is known for her unique, traditional Japanese princess-like appearance, featuring a purple ponytail adorned with shide ornaments. She uses the pronoun "warawa" and speaks with archaic sentence-ending particles such as "noja", making her a typical "noja loli" character. Hatsuharu is a destroyer in the game, boasting high torpedo, evasion, and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) stats. She was originally a member of the Northern Fleet, active in the northern seas around Attu and Kiska, and is therefore not good with hot environments. Hatsuharu undergoes several remodels in the game, including "Hatsuharu Kai" and "Hatsuharu Kai Ni", each improving her stats and changing her appearance to make her even more powerful and elegant. She is a very popular character, often featured in fan art and doujin works, making her one of the beloved characters in "Kantai Collection," attracting many players with her unique personality and elegant demeanor. Her historical background is quite complex, reflecting Japan's efforts to balance ship performance and armaments under naval armament restrictions.
